Cedar Grove, NJ Bike Night! (973) 239-1400

*** START ***

The Ride 2005 has come and gone. Life has been keeping me extraordinarily
busy over the past few weeks so this report is a bit later than what I
wanted but... I hope you don't mind a light hearted message about how it
went, etc. Here we go... It was a successful day although I learned a few
good lessons along the way...

Lesson #1: Hold the raffle at a pre-determined time so folks aren't
standing around waiting for you. We will take care of this next year.

Lesson #2: Bring an extra Goldwing key... Oh wait... That wasn't me...
<LOL>

Lesson #3: Invite more of these people to join me at Enjoy Life rides!
What a fun crowd... Visit the smaller, non-fundraising ride site at
http://tinyurl.com/4zkw8

Lesson #4: Tent... Must buy tent. Sunburn bad. Riding good...

Lesson #5: Less eMail, more riding... Let's go!

I'll try to make it as quick as possible... The following donated items as
raffle and door prizes as well as provided corporate support to our cause.
I have added specific notes that I feel are important for you to know. Here
we go: (In Alphabetical Order)

AutoDrill - www.AutoDrill.com and www.multi-drill.com
Post-event financial support. THANK YOU!

Bangkok Kitchen - www.youthelate.com/bkkitchen.htm
Make a trip to this place. It is my favorite restaurant in the world...
Period. If it were out in the middle of nowhere and large, I'd end The Ride
2006 there. eMail me in advance and Jasmine and I may just meet you there.
We can eat "family style" and try a bunch of stuff. Sounds good right?

Blue Bird School Bus Company - www.blue-bird.com

Captain Tom, The Mad Biker! - www.youthelate.com/madbiker.htm
Watch out... Danger... Not sure how Darth Vader is related to biking, but
he showed up at The Ride 2005.

DARE - www.dare.com
Personal comment - Dare to interact with a teen today! They don't bite -
often.

Enjoy Life Riding Club (eMail list) - http://tinyurl.com/4zkw8
Looking for a bunch of folks to ride with on a semi-regular basis? We go
out approximately once per month to parts unknown - year round... Whether
it is a Polar Bear meet in 10 degree weather or a giant burger run in
triple-digit temps... We ride and we meet and we usually eat. Sometimes we
go 20 miles, sometimes we go 500... What else is there to know before
joining us?!? Our eMail list is very low volume and "one way." In other
words, we communicate to you about monthly rides but you can't respond to
the whole group. No spam. No hype (well, maybe a little) and lots of fun!

Glenda's Leather, Lace and Whatever - http://tinyurl.com/98ofq
Glenda's Leather was a last minute addition. They actually agreed to meet
me pre-ride to hand me some items for the raffle! THANK YOU! I shortened
their URL for easy "clickthrough." Visit their sale site and eMail them
with questions. I have their full catalog here and they carry a LOT of
stuff not listed on the site.

Hot Dog Johnnys - www.hotdogjohnny.com

Jim Dandy's Bar & Grill - www.jimdandysbarandgrill.com
Monday night bike night at their Cedar Grove location starts at 6:30 PM.
It's a new event so sometimes I'm the only guy there! Come join me for some
good talk and great food. If nobody shows up by 7:30 PM, I usually depart
for a ride!!! I'm shutting it down at the end of August and will re-start
it next year. NOW is the time to join us!

Kawasaki Global / Riders of Kawasaki - www.youthelate.com/kawasaki.htm
Wow. Thank you again for all your support. These guys are the only major
manufacturer to actually step up and support us! I feel guilty having
recently sold my Vulcan and switched over to a Honda Valkyire out of pure
necessity... But Dan, our co-organizer (the silent guy) is still a
VROC/Vulcan guy and these folks (Aimee!) really know how to support events
just like ours. Visit their site. They have some great stuff to offer -
especially the ROK. I provide the link above rather than a direct link so
you can see the nice stuff they donated this year!

Luigi's Rancho Restaurant
480 Highway 46 West
Belvidere, NJ 07823
Our ending location! Great burger!!! Thursday night lobster tail bonanza
too.

N.J. Highlanders Motorcycle Club - (973) 835-2456 and (973) 835-5043
These are the folks who set up our self-guided tours (Thanks Jim!). I heard
some great feedback about those tours and hope to actually have time to try
them myself again soon! Give them a call and join them on one of their many
great rides. Jim, their grand poobah, was actually willing to partially
dismantle his Goldwing to help a fellow rider stuck at Luigi's. You won't
find a better group to ride with. They do same day and weekend/longer runs
too. If you were unable to make The Ride 2005 but would like copies of our
routes made up by them, please feel free to eMail me at
2005routes at youthelate.com. I will gladly send you PDF versions so you can
explore the great rides and roads.

Newark Bears Baseball Team - www.newarkbears.com
What can I say! WOW... Huge number of items donated. Much appreciated!!!
I hope a bunch of you were able to make the Kawasaki/Motorcycle and Classic
Car Night they had tonight. It was hot, HOT, H O T but a great day for
this.

Raritan Valley Black Belt Academy - www.raritanvalleyata.com
Tell Gary Joe from "The Ride" sent you. What a great guy! Known him since
the early 1980's or so... You won't find a better person to train or get in
shape with. Period.

Sussex Motorsports
446 Route 23 South
Sussex, NJ 07461
(973) 875-5400
Our launch point host! Can we borrow that tent next year? My skin is still
peeling... :)

The Life Christian Church - www.tlcc.org
(973) 731-7744
Free light breakfast items or Saturday night snack from their Life Cafe for
anyone who visits or participated in The Ride this year. A great
contemporary place to worship or just visit. Biker friendly of course -
come as you are! I happen to lead their small group for motorcyclists and
this is where I do most of my work with youth. Come join us some time.
eMail me first and maybe we can do a ride / lunch afterwards...

WKTU Radio FM
Warning: May not be "G" rated- www.ktu.com

We also received a donated car... Which sold today - which makes my wife
happy because we have our driveway back now... <GRIN> Thank you Carmen and
Sonny P. from Cedar Grove! It was a pleasure to have you join us at The
Ride 2005.

Please visit these sites and check out what they offer. By supporting them,
you are supporting us! Details about The Ride 2006 will be sent out in the
near future.

See you at The Ride 2006!
