[enjoyLIFErides] Ride Opportunity - October 7th

On Saturday, October 7, we are going to get together for a (long overdue) 
Enjoy Life ride.  Would love to see some old and new faces so spread the 
word.  All are welcome as long as they know how to ride responsibly.

DETAILS:

We will be officially meeting at the monument at the top of Bear Mountain in 
NY at 10 AM.  I'll be the guy on the Black Valkyrie with a slightly larger 
than normal backrest.  <grin>

>From there, we will be heading north/west deeper into NY and eventually 
winding up for lunch at the Captain's Table (http://www.captains-table.com/) 
around noon or 12:30.  It is only 12 miles from Bear Mountain so we expect 
to hit a few nice roads between the two points.  I'm guessing we will depart 
Bear Mountain at 10:15 AM or so if all goes as planned.

>From lunch, we will wind our way back down into NJ and to High Point State 
Park - time unknown.  From there, off to parts unknown.  100 or so miles 
ridden by this point from Bear Mountain.

Total mileage for the day is up to you.  The atmosphere is solo riding with 
the group.  As long as people can ride their own ride, take responsibility 
for the person behind them (no lost riders!) and ride safely, they are more 
than welcome to join us.  This is not an escorted ride in the traditional 
sense other than the fact that you will be escorted...  er...  You get the 
point.

I'm going to meet some riders at the Dunkin Donuts next to the Kawasaki 
Yamaha Sport Center located at 566 Route 23 North, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444 
(for you MapQuest and MS S&T folks).  I will be there around 8 AM and will 
probably depart at 8:15 AM with a full tank of gas and warm 
something-or-other in my stomach.  Feel free to join me there.  There is a 
gas station at this location.  There is also a McDonalds across the street. 
This location is at the corner of Route 23 North and Jackson Avenue / 
Pompton Plains Crossroads (680?).

Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  If the weather looks sufficiently 
bad, I'll post a message to the group the night before with cancellation 
details, etc.

Feel free to e-mail with any questions.  If you want to try and meet folks 
at a different location and then ride up to Bear Mountain to meet us, let me 
know time and location (must be easy for everyone to find) and I'll send it 
out to the group as we get closer to next weekend.
